books for a religious education teacher to read?

Obviously if there is only time for one book

it should be the Bible

Then the Catechism of the Catholic Church (or if you are not catholic you may still want to read it…but then you should know what your church teaches, each protestant religion…at least I think they do….have a book about their specific beliefs)

Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus(by Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg)

Listening to the Language of the Bible(By: Lois Tverberg with Bruce Okkema)

Mother Teresa A Simple Path

Peace is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh

The Boy Who Changed the Word by Andy Andrews(I talk more about this book in this post)

books to look for

Books on the various Saints

Books on types of prayer(here’s a link to a slide show  you may find interesting)

Read letters written by the various popes and Vatican councils

Read Inspirational interpretations of bible passages

and as always

read books that will help you stay

Relative and Real to the age  you are teaching.
