Religion and dealing with the unexpected:

No matter who we are

No matter how the world defines us

we experience change in our lives

from literal deaths

to losses of relationships

to changes in health, status, wealth, job

but one thing is constant:

Hebrews 13:8

New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Isn’t that comforting? To know there is a God, who is constantly there, and that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

but sometimes reading that is not enough

when we are in the throws of change

and searching for a solid place to land

it can be hard

check out these from google images:

and

and from one of my favorite saints:

and isn’t this a lovely way to be:

and good advice about change from a non catholic source but advice that is relevant still

and a little bit of charles schultz wisdom

and garfield we can’t forget the wisdom of that cat

and ziggy

and finally Look to the rainbow

God’s promise of love to all of  his creation(which by the you are part of)
